Training the next generation

Education


Training the next generation of physicians has long been part of Lown Center activities. The Lown Center offers medical students a unique setting in which to learn the art and science of medicine.

Over the past three decades, the Lown Center has trained more than two hundred research fellows.

The tradition of training continues today with clinical courses and preceptorships through which Harvard Medical School students have the opportunity to work side-by-side with the Lown Center’s renowned cardiologists at the. According to Deborah Vinton (HMS '09), who trained at the Lown Center March 2009, the Lown Center offers medical students the opportunity to learn "what we don't learn in medical school and don't see in other physician practices."
