The purpose of the Heart2Heart Run is to raise money & awareness toward better identification and treatment of heart disease.

Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States today and soon will be the leading cause in the developing world. Unfortunately, most people are not aware they may have, or be at risk for heart disease; others may simply ignore symptoms and early warning signs.

Bill Nawn was one of those people who ignored early signs of his heart arrhythmia. It was not until he experienced an acute episode while competing in a road race that he finally sought treatment.

Boston Marathon 2008 Update:

Bill Nawn and his friend, Sean Luitjens, ran 52.4 miles (2 marathons) each on April 21st, 2008, the day of the 112th running of the Boston Marathon. They started at 4:45am at the Finish Line on Boylston St. in Boston and ran the race route out to the Starting Line in Hopkinton--a distance of 26.2 miles, arriving shortly after 9:00am. There they joined the 25,000+ other runners preparing for the official start of the Marathon.

Leaving Hopkinton at 10:35am with the second wave of runners, they arrived at the Finish Line around 3:00pm. They both ran a 10 minute mile on the way back and completed the second half of the double marathon in 4 hours and 28 minutes!

With their return run back to Boston, after nearly 8 hours of running, Bill and Sean completed a round trip distance of 52.4 miles each or 104.8 miles total together!
